The AIFC Academy of Law is pleased to launch learning and development program “Certificate in Judicial Excellence for Kazakhstan Judges” in collaboration with the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the AIFC Court. The Program designed specifically for judges, courts administration personnel, and case progression officers. 

The program focuses on sharing global best practices in judicial administration, ethics, professional responsibility, efficiency, case management and practical skills.

Kazakhstan Judges will have the opportunity to study the international experience in the field of judicial administration, which can be included in the procedures and activities of the courts of Kazakhstan. This program reflects the shared commitment of legal institutions across Kazakhstan to advance the legal system as a key component for achieving the country’s vision for ongoing social and economic development, as well as for the establishment of the rule of law as the organizing principle for the advancement of civil and commercial affairs.

The program will be held from May 17 through May 20, 2021. Prominent international lawyers from around the world will share their experience. The learning program will be delivered as live lectures in a technology-based online format in English with the provision of the simultaneous translation.

The AIFC Academy of Law is a platform established to provide legal education programs on the AIFC Law and international commercial practice. The mission of the AIFC Academy of Law is the development of the AIFC legal system through teaching students the principles of the AIFC Law, as well as providing legal education with international value. aol.aifc.kz

AIFC Court is an independent legal entity. It has its own procedural rules modelled on English common law procedures and leading international practice. The AIFC Court is separate and independent from the courts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It consists of two tiers: a Court of First Instance, which includes a specialist division known as the Small Claims Court; and a Court of Appeal.  It has exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of the activities and operations of the AIFC and jurisdiction in the case of other disputes in which all parties agree in writing to give the AIFC Court jurisdiction. It does not have jurisdiction in relation to any disputes that are of a criminal or administrative nature.
