The Online Legal Internship Programme “Future Lawyers” was launched by the AIFC Academy of Law as a part of strategic objectives of the AIFC, which is to enhance human capital in the organisation. The AIFC aims to attract and prepare talented law students and graduates from leading universities worldwide, who could contribute to the further development of the AIFC. Students and fresh graduates who are self-motivated, open to new challenges, eager to gain new skills, and acquire unique experience in working with the AIFC are encouraged to apply for the AIFC Online Legal Internship Programme. We believe that this programme can provide a unique learning experience and give a great opportunity to gain valuable experience by working with the legal teams within the AIFC.

 Programme Description

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Fluent speaking and written English
  • Completed a minimum of 2 years of an undergraduate law degree; or
    • a fresh graduate (undergraduate/ postgraduate); or
    • a newly qualified lawyer.

LOCATION

ONLINE: WORK FROM HOME

HOW TO APPLY:

Step 2    Fill out the application form, write an essay on one of the topics listed below:

  1. Advantages of the AIFC Contract law
  2. Advantages of the AIFC Company law
  3. Advantages of the AIFC Dispute Resolution system and its role in promotion of the rule of law in Eurasia

Step 3    Successful candidates will be announced via email in the 2nd half of May 2020 and will be invited to the interview (online or in person)

Step 4    Selected candidates will be contacted by the Internship coordinator to finalize the recruitment process

PROGRAMME TIMELINES:

Application period - 1 May 2020 – 19 May 2020

Candidate assessments and online interviews – 20 May 2020 – 30 May 2020

Internship period - 01 June 2020 – 31 August 2020

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

Interns will be working in legal teams of the AIFC Authority and will be supported by the internship coordinators/mentors.

FINANCIAL ASPECTS

The AIFC Legal Summer Internship Programme is the unpaid internship programme

WORKING HOURS AND HOLIDAYS

Interns are considered to be working from Monday to Friday (full-time internship). Working hours are from 9:30 am – 7:00 pm with a 1.30-hour lunch break.
