CONTENT OF THE PROGRAMME

• Lecture 1. FIDIC basics. Contracts rainbow, understanding the difference between books. Books issued in 2017 and after. FIDIC Golden rules.
• Lecture 2. Working with FIDIC. Risks allocation in different Books. Engineers’ roles in the contracts. Dispute adjudication board.
• Lecture 3. Entering a contract and dispute resolution under FIDIC.
• Lecture 4. FIDIC contracts in Kazakhstan. International finance donors in Kazakhstan. What works and what is not working. Applicable law and arbitration clause. FIDIC based disputes in local courts.

After completing this course, the learner will be able to:

- Distinguish FIDIC Book application to a certain case

- Provide legal counseling on FIDIC contract matters

- Identify risks and resolve disputes under FIDIC

- Understand FIDIC contract practice in the AIFC and Kazakhstan
